Band Leads Huge Scottish Police College Parade
On Friday, 9th June 2017, Grampian Police Scotland Pipe Band was honoured to provide the musical accompaniment at the Scottish Police College Passing Out Parade for Course 1 of 2017. The Parade was extra special in that it comprised of just over 200 Probationary Constables, the largest number in the Police Scotland era.
19 Band Members, under the direction of Pipe Major Pamela Whyte and Leading Drummer Nicky Gibson, made themselves available for the occasion. Despite changeable weather conditions, the Band produced a truly excellent performance.
During his address to the new Constables and the extremely large number of their family and friends, Inspecting Officer Assistant Chief Constable Andy Cowie made special mention of the Band. He complimented the commitment of the musicians, their smart turn-out and excellent performance. His observations drew hearty and well-deserved applause from everyone in attendance.
Below are some photos and video clips of the Band’s Passing Out Parade performance.
