Friends of ANCHOR 20 for 20
Grampian Police Scotland Pipe Band was delighted to be able to contribute to the launch of the Friends of Anchors 20 for 20 campaign. As part of its milestone 20th anniversary, the charity has launched its biggest fundraising appeal ever by pledging £1 million as part of it’s “Big Dream” campaign to assist the University of Aberdeen’s ambitious £4.5m project to attract and recruit a world-class cancer research team to the North-east of Scotland.
The band were asked to provide 2 pipers for the launch to play for the guests arriving by our principle sponsor Balmoral Group who fully cover the charity’s running costs. Pictured with Pipers Alasdair Macleod and Cameron Shepherd is Balmoral‘s Managing Director and Chairman James S Milne CBE who is also the Chairman of Friends of ANCHOR.
The charity is dropping 20 anchors all uniquely decorated by different local artists across the North East Of Scotland plus further afield in Shetland, Orkney and Elgin which will go display from the 1st of July for four months before being auctioned off later in the year
