ForresAt the commencement of preparations for the 2018 Competition season, Pipe Major Pamela Whyte and Leading Drummer Mike Haggart set all Members of Grampian Police Scotland Pipe Band clear goals for the year ahead. Pam and Mike requested everyone to commit to frequent practice sessions, make every effort to raise their individual standard of playing, further develop the Band’s existing great team spirit.

Pam and Mike’s declared aim was to ensure that for 2018 the Band was in the best possible state of readiness for all competitions and become established at the top end of Grade 2.

Forres-3These goals are now being achieved. The many hours devoted to intense practice have already produced excellent results at the British, UK and European Championships. The best of these was a highly creditable 3rd place at Forres on Saturday past.

Pam Whyte commented, “The entire Band deserve huge credit for their hard graft since late autumn last year. They are a truly talented group of musicians who have pulled together brilliantly and are now reaping their just rewards.  They are all great to work with and the challenge now is for the Band to build on the excellent solid foundation that everyone’s dedication has helped to create.”
